Hand Engraving

The fundamental technique of hand engraving has remained unchanged for centuries. However, the advent of modern tools has provided today’s engravers with advantages that previous engravers couldn’t dream of. Resisting the inviting voice of the modern technical advancements when it comes to the engraving artistry methods, Dana has chosen not to turn towards the advanced modern equipment and technology but rather follow the centuries-old traditional path. 

 

For Dana the art of engraving is essentially a practice of  meditation, and as such it provides a unique opportunity to connect us to our deep ancestral roots. Having acquired mastery of different hand engraving techniques, Dana has come to create her own unique engraving style.
